Writer, independent AI researcher, software engineer & music producer

Muhamad J. Akoum

Hard problems are the fun part.

I work directly with founders and build end to end, from idea to production, with real innovation and polish.

Lebanese product engineer in Beirut, available worldwide. Twelve years shipping real software, from native iOS for millions to end-to-end-encrypted tools and AI products. I work where founders, product teams, and users meet, and stay accountable through production.

Everything you’re seeing, hearing, and reading right now is my taste. The track, the words, even this line breaking the fourth wall to say so. In the age of AI, taste is the whole edge.

Work

Things I’ve built and shipped, start to finish. Most of it is open source, so you can read the code, check it, and build it yourself.

  1. A paid web app that rebuilds your own photos as eerie, half-remembered rooms, full-resolution and VHS-graded.

End-to-end-encrypted, peer-to-peer file transfer for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Send any file straight between devices, resumable, with no account and no server holding your data. Built on iroh.

Serverless, end-to-end-encrypted sync for your own devices. Memory, tabs, and files, with no account to make and nothing to mine.

  4. A visual fine-tuning plugin for AI coding agents. Bespoke pages with live design controls instead of guessing at prompts.

  5. Design multi-agent coding workflows on a canvas and run them while you sleep. If a run hits the wall at 2am, it checkpoints and waits.

  6. Research into LLM memory for million-token contexts. Agent memory and retrieval, worked out in the open.

Experience

I like to build the whole thing, from the security layer to the last pixel to the last note. Twelve years of it: seven leading native iOS for millions of users, the rest building my own products.

Skills

Twelve years of shipping, and a lot of it is agentic now. I build with AI every day, but I engineer it: specs, verification, and guardrails around the agents, not vibes. More on that ↓

Music

Best with headphones on

Ancient Prayers

I’ve made music as Ancient Prayers since I was fourteen. Nocturnal, ambient, electronic, and hard to pin to one lane on purpose. Every piece is built to make you feel something, not to fit a genre.

More than thirty releases. I even reworked the MBC4 main titles, the theme I grew up waiting to hear come on TV and dropping everything to go listen to. That is the whole reason I make any of this.

I produce all of it in Cubase. Now I want to write for film, TV, and games. If you are scoring something, let’s talk.

The track playing right now is mine. I opened up my real Cubase projects and wrote a no-theory way to make cinematic ambient, built ADHD-friendly because I have ADHD too. Join early access and I’ll send you a high-quality Air Song MP3, free.
